Flight delay
If your flight is delayed, you may be entitled to compensation under European Regulation 261/2004 . The amount of compensation depends on the distance of the flight and rebooking options.
All flights of 1500 km or less.
250 euros if you arrived at your destination more than 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time of the cancelled flight.
All intra-Community* flights longer than 1500 km and for all other flights between 1500 and 3500 km.
400 euros if you arrived at your destination more than 3 hours after the scheduled arrival time of the cancelled flight.
All flights not covered by the above.
300 euros if you were offered rebooking on a flight that arrived at your destination within 3 to 4 hours of the scheduled arrival time of the cancelled flight.
600 euros if you arrived at your destination more than 4 hours after the scheduled arrival time of the cancelled flight.
When are you not entitled to benefits?
If a flight is canceled due to circumstances beyond our control, such as severe weather or strikes, airlines are not liable for compensation, but passengers may be entitled to services.
Please note that European Regulation 261/2004 does not apply to journeys that both begin and end outside the EU, for example a journey that begins in the United States or Canada and ends in the Faroe Islands or Greenland, even if there is a stopover in Iceland.
*Within the Community refers to flights within the European Union (EU) and the EFTA countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway). Flights from or between these countries are subject to European Regulation 261/2004, as are flights operated by an air carrier registered within these countries.
